HEALTH

*      National Family Health Surveys (NFHS)

The National Family Health Survey (NFHS) is a large-scale, multi-round survey conducted in a representative sample of households throughout India. Five rounds of the survey have been conducted since the first survey in 1992-93. The survey provides state and national information for India on fertility, infant and child mortality, the practice of family planning, maternal and child health, reproductive health, nutrition, anaemia, utilization and quality of health and family planning services.

*      District-Level Household and Facility Surveys (DLHS)

The DLHS is designed to provide information on family planning, maternal and child health, reproductive health of ever married women and adolescent girls, utilization of maternal and child healthcare services at the district level for India. It gives free access to database.

The Database covers Statistics on Trades and Development including technology & innovations, trade and biodiversity, transport cost, output and income, inflation and exchange rates, commodity prices, population, creative economy and productive capacities. It provides useful information on  human development indicators (Tables in excel sheets) for all the countries. *      ICSSR DATA SERVICE

This platform provides single point access to a wide range of primary datasets including datasets generated by large-scale government surveys i.e. ASI and NSS that provides unit level data as well as qualitative studies. It extracts and transforms the data from raw datasets before uploading it in the data repository with necessary documentation for the benefit of researcher. Besides hosting unit-level datasets, the ICSSR Data Service also provides access to secondary datasets derived from the unit-level datasets using selected parameters. All datasets documentation and resources are freely available through login to the platform.

The Open Government Data Portal is designed, developed to facilitate the access to Government owned shareable data through search catalog/resources and information and periodically is being updated.

*      CENSUS DATABASE

Census India platform by Government of India provided a vast information on demographic, household, economic, social characteristics of Indian population at all India, State, District, Town, village level. Census Tables search engine can be used to extract an information in Excel files. The tables are listed by Census year (1991, 2001, 2011), organized by series (Demography / Primary Census Abstract (A), Economic Activities (B), Marital Status, Age, Disability, Education Language & Religion (C), Migration (D), Fertility (F).  The Population Finder can be used to retrieve data from the Primary Census Abstract (PCA) data tables containing 85 indicators available for districts, sub-districts, towns, villages and wards. The indicators include the number of households, the population by sex, by selected age group, by SC and ST, by work status, and more.  The Census Digital Library serves as a central, searchable repository of all publicly available materials related to the India population censuses. The Sample Registration System (SRS), which provides reliable annual estimates of Infant mortality rate, birth rate, death rate and other indicators at the national and sub-national levels is also available on the platform.

NCRB provides database on crimes, accidental deaths, missing women and children and statistics on prisons and suicides including farmers.

CMIE platform has a vast business (PROVESS- Company Level Data) and economic database covering the financial performance of individual companies; estimate household incomes, pattern of spending and savings; new investment projects and integrated database of the Indian economy. Some of its widely acknowledged data include PROWESS (Company Level data – financial performance of 50,000 companies since 1989); CapEx is a database of projects; Economic Databases - Economy Outlook; Industry Outlook; States of India; Industry Outlook; Commodities; Trade; Household Wellbeing; consumer Pyramids.
